Joycelyne was born and raised on Ambae Island, where she learned the art of weaving from her mother and grandmother. She spent her childhood watching them weave and eventually began to help them with their work. As she grew older, she realized that she had a passion for weaving and decided to hone her skills. She spent many years studying different techniques and experimenting with different materials, and eventually became a master weaver.

Today, Joycelyne is known for her light shades, which are created using coconut leaf and dried pandanas. She is able to create a wide variety of shapes and sizes, from small table lamps to large ceiling lights. Her work is highly sought after for its intricate designs and attention to detail. She is dedicated to preserving traditional weaving techniques and incorporating them into her contemporary creations.

In addition to her light shades, Joycelyne also creates unique earrings. She uses a variety of materials, including shells, beads, and seeds, to create beautiful and one-of-a-kind pieces. Her earrings are popular among tourists and locals alike, and she is always experimenting with new designs and ideas.

When she is not weaving, Joycelyne enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is also an avid gardener and enjoys tending to her flower beds and vegetable garden. She is a dedicated mother, and enjoys spending time with her children, teaching them about her craft and encouraging them to follow their own passions.

Joycelyne is currently residing in Port Vila, where she has a small studio where she works on her creations. She is always happy to welcome visitors and share her passion for weaving with them. She is a true artist and a true ambassador of Ambae Island culture.
