Our kayak tours leave from the Port Vila Seafront, Monday to Friday. After a safety briefing on the waterfront, you push off in a tandem sit-inside sea kayak. The first stretch follows the Seafront of town: the Grand Hotel, the restaurants and cafes, then the big houses on Millionaires Row.
You paddle past the wreck of the old sunset cruise boat and cross Paray Bay to Lapetasi Wharf. From there you go under the wharf, around the ship terminals, and onto a golden sand beach. It's the best beach in the harbour, and fresh coconut is waiting.
After a short rest you head out through the shallow channel at Ifira Point, where kids from Ifira swim. The paddle around Ifira Island takes you past cliffs, reef and rocky outcrops like the Apostles. Then you cross the harbour entrance to Malapoa and follow the coast and reef back to the Seafront. Your guide may change the route to suit the weather and the group.
